At the very beggining the galaxy had been torn apart by... all right, all right, I'll stop rambling. Here goes:
All of it has begun with WEBRPG forum about Wh40k. When I've joined it all the participants were stumbling in the darkness without any rightous to guide them... all right, yes - I've promised not to rumble anymore. Got a bit carried away... Again: When I've joined the forum, the main topic has been the blasphemous Wh40k 3rd edition. You can still trace it by scrolling the pages of the forum. I must addmitt it wasn't a really fair figth with everyone kicking GW (and Lord, do they deserve it!) and poor Flyboy - their only advocate (I guess he just likes the role of Advocatus Diaboli). One stood above all others - TAV, posting as Worried Protestor did not issue direct "standard" arguments about prices and rules. Instead he delivered wild, rumbling denounciations, calling GW The Great Devourer, appealing to everyone to unite and generally posting in sermon-like style. I guess his mind is as twisted as mine - I would have done exactly the same thing. And I have.
As I started posting a great war between me and TAV (uh - Worried Protestor) begun, with him accusing me of beeing a foul GW spy, trying to supplant him and me accusing him of blasphemy and heresy against the name of The Emperor - I have assumed my favourite role of inquisitor (btw. WILL church ever apologize for ending the inquisition? I'm still waiting...) - which I feel good at. From word to word forum posts have changed into something closely resembling religious debate. Programists call it a high level of abstraction - we did not argue about rules anymore. Instead we started to assault apponents "philosophical" possitions and an inquisitorial prosecution has been initiated (by me :} ) against the Worried Protestor. It has really been very enjoyable.
Then the breakthrough came. TAV has thrown an idea. Simple, yet awsome. Let us cease the fights and make something lasting! (well - maybe not millenia but still...). Let us make a WH40k story - together camerades! Let us fight the rotten capitalism, together build the better future. For camerade Stalin... uh - for The Emperor... uh {*scratches his head, obviously confused. Then wipes the foam from his mouth and starts again*}.
Obviously there were technical problems - there can only be so much people working on the same story, main narrators had to be appointed and decorated with Crux Argentium the better to serve the Imperium and fiGHT FOR THE EMPEROR!!! KILL ALL THE HEATHENS AND BLASPHEMERS!! KICK DOWN THE GATES OF HELL!!! STRIDE... uh - sorry. {*takes a pill of Prozac and relaxes visibly*}. Anyway finetuning the project had been going for about two - three weeks: plot ideas, characters' descriptions etc. And then it has finally launched! The results can be seen in the History of the conflict [MAINFILE] in the main directory.
